What you can expect
You will develop and maintain C++ backend components powering Zoom's AI-driven Contact Center platform. Working within our distributed telephony infrastructure and real-time voice services, you will contribute to session management and media handling features. Your work will support millions of customer interactions and help maintain platform reliability.
About the Team
We deliver cloud telephony infrastructure for Zoom's omnichannel Contact Center platform. Our team collaborates across engineering, product, and operations to build high-concurrency voice services. We exist to power seamless, AI-enhanced customer experiences at enterprise scale.
You will join the Realtime Backend team, which focuses on building and maintaining the core real-time voice infrastructure. This includes low-latency C/C++ services, VoIP systems, and cloud-native telephony components. The team works with technologies such as Redis, FreeSWITCH/Asterisk, and Linux-based systems programming to deliver reliable, high-performance communication services.
Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining C++ backend modules that support reliability and scalability for real-time voice traffic
- Investigating and resolving system issues including memory leaks, thread contention, and network latency under guidance from senior team members
- Collaborating with development and product teams to enhance the C++/Lua bridge while delivering essential business features
- Learning and applying telephony concepts (SIP, RTP, media handling) to contribute to voice service development
What we’re looking for
- Communicate fluently in Mandarin to collaborate with distributed engineering teams across regions
- Demonstrate 2+ years of professional C/C++ development experience or relevant industry experience in systems programming
- Demonstrate understanding of Linux systems programming including IPC, socket programming, I/O multiplexing (epoll), and asynchronous I/O
- Exposure to Redis for caching and state management in production environments
- Demonstrate readiness to learn Lua scripting or embedded rule-based engines for telephony applications.
- Interest in audio quality control strategies or AI/ML integration for voice services (ASR/TTS/NLP) is an advantage
