Speaking to the remote work aspect of working at Zoom, I don't feel that as a remote employee, I'm a second class citizen to people who are in office. A lot of communication happens over Zoom Chat and Meetings, which supports this hybrid style of work very well. I really appreciate how Zoom is handling remote work and remote employees.

The whole 'Delivering Happiness' theme is so true. For me, it's something that's being practiced all the time: it's about putting yourself first and also putting our partners first. It's really something that's lived, not something we just talk about. I love being part of that. Being remote can make it hard to connect, but being at Zoom doesn't necessarily feel like you're far away from your co-workers.

For collaboration and teamwork and Zoom, I feel like everyone is on the same page. Everyone wants to get their hands into the pot and is willing to discuss issues. It's a very open form of communication, where no one should be scared to say anything and every opinion is valid. It doesn't matter what your position is.

'Zoom Cares' is our culture. We always try to make sure that the customer is taken care of, and that their issues are dealt with promptly. That's the main basis of the approach we take with customers. The engineering role has helped me grow in a way that through dealing with complex high priority incidents, I've become more confident.

I created a test automation project for Zoom whiteboard that my team will be expanding on in the next couple of months. I researched and experimented with different tools and testing conventions we could use and wrote a series of tests using my findings. At the end of my internship, I presented and demoed my project to the team, which will be using my research, documentation, and code to implement test automation on a large scale for the whiteboard and other Zoom products this fall.

The culture of Zoom is a culture of care. We want to make sure we care for our customers, we care for the community, and we care for each other as well. Even when the going gets tough, at Zoom, we feel like we are making a difference. When working a job, the two things that I look for are, 'What difference do you make through the job?' And 'What difference does your company make in the world?' I don't think I have worked or will work for any other company that will make a bigger impact on the world than Zoom.
